A Kelly Post: Well... here is my new life!! Ah.. I missed you hospitality!! Josh and I have had a look at our finances and if we want to visit Tara in NewFoundland, get to California, maybe to New York, maybe to Brazil, then to London. Well. We just have to work our butts off for the Summer, that's what.
So - Josh and I have both spent the past fortnight working in Giorgios with Fiona. It's been so funny and not altogether awesome to be back in hospitality but the tips are good and the Summer is getting busier so they're only going to get better. Seeing Josh being a dishwasher was worth it's weight in gold (and he was good at it too!) but he's now accepted a job as a surveyor's assistant over the next couple of months as it was really good pay. I've also taken on three days a week a job at an outdoor store selling thermals and jackets etc etc.. Yep. That's right.. I'm that annoying person that stalks you while you're trying to browse through the racks :) But I'm getting very good at talking about layers and waterproofing features and I will score some good free stuff out of it - so it's worth it.
Banff is great. Except for the fact that they've ripped up the main street to replace the 100yr old sewerage system this year. That equals lots of dust and not always being able to cross the road where you want. and it's not as pretty. But all you have to do is step away from the main drag and you're back in stunning country side.
Adventure wise - we've been laying low but now that we've received our first pay chekcs and have some good leads on places to live we're going to start organising some rides and hikes throught the amazing countryside around here. The weather has been gorgeous (actually it's stinking hot today) so it's the perfect time for it.
Should be some interesting photos up on this site over the next couple of weeks as we attempt to go white water rafting on the cheap, get to the Calgary stampede and fit in lots of rides.
