After our week in the Alpes we spent a Saturday night in Geneva before flying ot sunday night.

This 'bridge' was actually submerged/floating with the walkway lower than the surrounding water level. It was beatiful and reminiscent of newer submarines in its lines and materials.

We had no plans and spent our time wandering about the various inner city boroughs (new and old)

There was a festival of lights going on with a dozen or so lighting installations around town. (mostly in the centre and around the shores of lake Geneva)

This was the best. with trunks wrapped in golden bells wivh reflected up lights but also jingled as the breeze made the boughs sway.

We were recomended Buvette Des Bains by Katie and John who had been in Geneva the week before and enjoyed a fondue. It is a bathhouse with diving platforms and swimming enclosures in the lake, plus massage and

health treatments, along with bar and south west facing restaurant. Its located on a groin in Lake Geneva and as such looks back at the centre of the city. It quickly became a favorite for us (we ate there twice in <24hrs)>
I recommend it.

We were really soaking up the atmosphere and the late afternoon sun and in no hurry as we had plenty of time to get to our 7.30pm flight. Or so we thought, until we arrived at the Airport two hours ahead of time giving each other high fives for getting there so comfortably on time. (That's always a bad sign) We tried to use the auto check-in but our flight was not listed. "Hmm... must be to early" " . . . um its not even on the departures screen" "oh no."
We had missed it outright, rather than being there over two hours prior to departure and ahead of check in opening, the flight had just boarded as we were attempting to check in.
100EURO later and we had arranged a later flight. But really not what we had in mind, having just had a great week, but me still without a regular source of income.
