A very merry cotswolds xmas & a happy new year!

Here is the scene that greeted us at the Smiths for Christmas... ahh.. so homey and christmassy!!

The Smith show didn't stop for 2 days. Here are our xmas elves whipping up one of our multiple delicious meals, even breakfast was amazing (smoked local trout eggs benedict, good coffee, a little robin outside - bliss).

After breakfast they sent us on a riddle hunt around Bourton on the water...

and when we came back, santa had been and our stockings were full - hooray!!!

Next it was essential we watch the Queen's xmas message which was quite surreal..

and what is a perfect smith xmas without an enormous turkey - isn't it pretty! (note richard feeling violated after stuffing the turkey).

Success - chef Richard wooes us for about the 10th time in 2 days.. Merry Xmas gang.

Next Josh steps in for dessert and tries to take some of Richard's glory with some very schmancy chef behaviour... look at that presentation work!

Back in London and in Trafalgar Square. This is a live tree from Norway (they've been sending the xmas tree since about 1949 if I remember incorrectly as thanks for... something!!)

More Schmancy chef behaviour from Josh for New Years. That boy can mix a mean cocktail!!

Smacking the mint!

The fireworks from Hyde Park.
After having our own little apartment party we cycled down to the park with our blanket and a bottle of champers.. a good start to 2009!
